Self Trade

European business sold to HVB for €911M
Self Trade was established in 1996 in Paris to commercialise the then novel idea of using the internet for sending stock-broking information between institutional brokers. The company then decided to add a consumer front end to the original concept of providing back-office services only. Self Trade S.A was floated in April 2000 at a market value of €750M and then sold in October 2000 to DAB (a subsidiary of HVB of Germany) for €911M. Self Trade is now owned by Societe Generale of France.
