Visible World brings the customisation and targeting normally associated with internet advertising to TV. The company’s technology which it has rolled out across cable operators and broadcasters in the US allows, for example, different neighbourhoods to be aired different versions of commercials (from the same car company for example) depending on local demographics, or time of day, weather that day, etc. The company is currently trialing customising commercials by household on cable systems, showing commercials to individual families based on direct marketing data already available on that family. Investors in the business include Comcast and Time Warner.
