Deepak  Shahdadpuri

Deepak I. Shahdadpuri is the Founder and Managing Director of Baer Capital Partners’ (BCP) Private Equity Fund. Deepak has over 10 years successful private equity investing and advisory experience in India, UK and the United States with GEM India Advisors (GIA), Reuters Venture Capital, Bain & Company, FS Capital Partners and Ernst & Young.

Prior to joining BCP, Deepak co-founded and was the Managing Director of GIA, a consumer focused India private equity fund where he was responsible for all aspects of the fund from investment strategy to deal sourcing to portfolio management. At GIA, Deepak built a strong track record of identifying, sourcing and closing investments in India - Sula Wines, Mark Pi Restaurants, Bakers Circle and ClearTrip. Deepak has also invested in, and is on the board of Saffronart, India’s leading art auction business, an investment made via FS Capital Partners, an investment company founded by Deepak to make early stage investments. Other investments made by FS Capital Partners include, Active Health Partners, a leading outsourced occupational healthcare business in the UK, and Subway Southeast, one of London’s largest franchisees of Subway Restaurants.

Prior to joining GIA, Deepak was a Principal with RVC Europe, a $450M leading early stage venture capital fund that spun out of Reuters plc, where he focused on sourcing new investment opportunities and managing portfolio companies. Deepak held board seats at Investis (London, UK), Corizon (London, UK), Advertising.com (Baltimore, USA), Medsite (New York, USA) and eVector (Bangalore, India). Prior to joining RVC, he was a Senior Consultant with Bain & Company, where he provided investment and strategic guidance to Fortune 500 companies and leading Private Equity funds. Before joining Bain & Company, Deepak was a Senior Accountant with Ernst & Young in London, with whom he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Deepak is the Founder and Chairman of Capco Advisors, who launched the first Indian Modern and Contemporary Art Fund.

Deepak is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Charter Member of Tie UK. Deepak is on the board of Sula Wines, Saffronart, Bakers Circle, Mark Pi India, Capco Advisors and Subway Southeast.

Deepak has an MBA with distinction from INSEAD, where he won the Andersen Consulting Prize in Strategy and an undergraduate honours degree in Law from King's College, University of London.
