Dev Patel

Devesh was the former CEO of Whereonearth, the company Yahoo! bought in October 2005. Dev joined Whereonearth in April 2000. He defined the Company’s strategy for maximizing its opportunity in geo search and advertising. He led business development with the company’s strategic partners, business planning, fund raising, intellectual property creation and the exit. He joined Whereonearth from Racal Electronics Plc.

At Racal he worked in Corporate Business Development on a range of activities including development of group strategy, disposals, and the development and management of new Internet and Security business opportunities. Prior to working in Racal’s Corporate Business Development, he was a Principal Engineer at Racal Labs where he was a key member of their Advanced Research and Development group. He worked in the development of adaptive algorithms for computer vision, a subject that he had previously researched for over six years as a Research Fellow and a PhD student.
